Invader Pest Management's PESP Strategy
The Pesticide Environmental Stewardship Program (PESP) is a voluntary program that forms partnerships with pesticide users to reduce the potential health and environmental risks associated with pesticide use and implement pollution prevention strategies.
While government regulation can reduce pesticide risk, PESP is guided by the principle that, even in the absence of additional regulatory mandates, the informed actions of pesticide users reduce risk even further. Based on this principle, membership in the program is completely voluntary.
By joining, organizations pledge that environmental stewardship is an integral part of pest control, and they commit to working toward pesticide practices that reduce risk to humans and the environment. Members take a strategic approach to risk reduction and undertake specific, measurable activities toward achieving their risk reduction goals.
The EPA (Environmental Protetion Agency) recognizes the need to protect public health and the food supply with efficient, cost-effective pest control. In our role as a partner, the Agency promotes the adoption of innovative, alternative pest control practices that reduce potential pesticide risk .

Safety and the Environment
An Integrated Pest Management Approach
At Invader Pest Management, we follow a Preventative Pest Management approach to achieving a pest free environment. That means decreasing the dependence on chemicals by using a variety of methods for eliminating pests. In essence, our preventative plan follows industry standard of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) which represents a balance between prevention, sanitation and maintenance. It’s common-sense set of measures that allows for a variety of strategies to control pests, such as Inspection, sanitation recommendations, exclusion, biological controls, mechanical controls, cultural controls, Education and Communication and the Judicious Use of Materials.
For example, sealing openings in your foundation will help prevent rodents from entering your home or premises. We may use baits, carefully placed out of reach of children and pets, to eliminate roach populations. To get rid of ants we focus on finding and eliminating their colonies not just spraying the ant trails you can see.
Our goal is to protect your family and business from unwanted pests and pest-related illnesses using the best strategy or combination of strategies in each situation. While all pesticides are Extremely regulated and are safe for people, plants and pets if used in accordance with directions, we try to minimize their use when possible and accommodate specific health concerns.
